Welcome to Cakes-of-Art!

 

My name is Richard Lasher, Pastry Chef and Cake Artist.
I can recall when I was thirteen I made a mess out of my parents kitchen making candies and cakes for friends and family.
After knowing that this was my passion, I decided to take an Apprenticeship Program at Colonial Williamsburg, VA and earned my certification as a Certified Baker. I soon worked my way to becoming a much respected Executive Pastry Chef.

Having spent years as an Executive Pastry Chef at some of the finest establishments, I have gained much expertise in working in the wonderful world of sugar baked creations.
I have been an Executive Pastry Chef at such fine establishments as Farmington Country Club and Glenmore Country Club in Charlottesville, VA. I also spent many years as an Executive Pastry Chef at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA.

Some of my creations have been seen and/or featured in Southern Living Magazine, Style Weekly and on NBC29, Charlottesville's NBC Affiliate. I have also been involved in many charity events for the March of Dimes, Muscular Dystrophy and the MCV Hospitality House.
